Catherine Engelbrecht was born in Richmond, Texas and graduated from University of Houston with a B.A. in marketing. She is President of Engelbrecht Manufacturing, a high-precision oilfield machine shop started in 1994 by her and her husband, Bryan. They have two beautiful children, William and Elizabeth. Prior to 2008, Catherine had little involvement in the political arena. She was what could be called a “life activist.” With roles as a wife, a mother, a founder and board member of her church, an officer of her children’s school’s PTO, a city volunteer, and a business owner, she had plenty to focus on. She believed, as many did, that government was best left to “politicians” who could be relied upon to do their best on behalf of the American people. During the Presidential campaign of 2008, she watched as government and politicians made decisions that stood in stark contrast to the American ideals of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. She looked at her children, her aging parents, her business, her church, her country, and she knew she had to do something to help protect them. So, with her family’s support, she stepped out in faith, away from the family business and into full time service working on behalf of all those who believe in the greatness of America and the conservative, Judeo-Christian values on which it was founded. In 2009 she helped found King Street Patriots, a non-profit group with a model for activism that can best be defined as community organizing for conservatives. With guiding principles of American exceptionalism, constitutional governance, and civic duty, King Street Patriots aims to provide a permanent platform from which groups and individuals can strategically mobilize in their communities, their message made exponentially stronger by a loose alliance with fellow Patriots all across the nation. |

Forum for HD 115 Candidates w/ Coppell Republican Club-
Coppell, TX 75019
Forum for HD 115 Candidates w/ Coppell Republican Club
The public is invited to a forum for the Republican candidates running for House District 115 sponsored by the Coppell Republican Club. The forum will be held on Thursday, February 9th, at the Coppell Senior Center, 345 W. Bethel Rd. in Coppell. The program will begin promptly at 6:30. Presentations by each of the candidates and will be followed by a Q&A session conducted by members of the Club. Following the forum and Q&A, candidate for U.S. Senate and former Dallas Mayor, Tom Leppert, will speak. Leppert is contending for the Republican nomination against Ted Cruz, Craig James, and David Dewhurst.
The House District 115 seat was held for many years by Jim Jackson, who announced his retirement last fall. Although the exact boundaries of the district have yet to be determined, it will likely include all of Coppell and parts of Irving and Carrollton. The race has attracted five candidates from various parts of the district. They include Kevin Dunn (Coppell), Dr. Steve Nguyen (Irving), Andy Olivo (Carrollton), Bennett Ratliff (Coppell), and Matt Rinaldi (Irving).
“This is the most important state race to residents of these cities – it determines who will represent us in Austin – so we encourage every citizen to attend,” said David Bittermann, President of the Club. “In addition anyone is welcome to submit potential questions for the Q&A session to coppellgopclub@gmail.com. We will include them if time permits.”
The 2013 session of the Texas Legislature is likely to be one of the most contentious in Texas history. Budget shortfalls, which were essentially papered over in the last session, funding for education, gasoline sales tax and highway funding, use of the “rainy day” fund, and immigration policy are just a few of the issues that will have to be addressed in the upcoming session.
The Coppell Republican Club is dedicated to keeping voters informed and educated, and to assisting those who want to get involved in the upcoming elections. For information about the Club and future programs and events, please go to www.coppellrepublicanclub.org.

Signings and Speaking Events in New York City, Orlando, Denver, Memphis, New Orleans, D.C. and More Announced for February
Starnes to hold signing at
2012 Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC)
Nashville, Tenn. DATE… Just days away from the release of his second book “Dispatches from Bitter America” (February 1, 2012/ B&H Publishers), Todd Starnes, host of FOX News & Commentary, is rolling out his nationwide signing and speaking tour. Kicking off in early February, and following multiple TV and radio appearances, including HANNITY and FOX & Friends, the tour will hit over a dozen markets including stops in New York City, Orlando, Denver, New Orleans, D.C. as well as a signing at the Conservative Political Action Conference. A full signing and speaking engagement schedule is listed below, stay tuned to Starnes’ website (http://radio.foxnews.com/toddstarnes/) for the most up to date information.
In his newest book chronicling our country’s ongoing culture war, Starnes references how President Obama once declared that people who cling to their guns are bitter Americans. So Starnes, who describes himself as a “gun-toting, chicken-eating, son of a Baptist,” decided to travel across the country to determine if what the president said was true. His book is filled with hilarious satire and biting commentary on the culture war. He also was given exclusive interviews with folks like Mike Huckabee, Sean Hannity, Michelle Malkin and Paula Deen.
Starnes’ latest book takes on the ongoing culture war and correlates with the current headline grabbing GOP race with candidates such as Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich stating that the 2012 election is about values and “people who cling to their God and their Bibles.” Additionally, Starnes is continuing to travel to the Republican primary hot spots reporting specifically on politics for FOX News & Commentary.
Starnes is the host of FOX News & Commentary, heard daily on radio stations around the nation. He’s often described as a cross between Paul Harvey, Lewis Grizzard and Erma Bombeck. Todd’s down-home common-sense approach to life has earned him awards and accolades including an Associated Press Mark Twain Award for Storytelling and a regional Edward R. Murrow Award.
He is a frequent guest on FOX & Friends and is a regular panelist on Hannity’s Great American Panel. Todd hosts a daily web show on FOX News Live and writes a daily blog read by more than two million people at www.toddstarnes.com
