Thank You
November 13, 2008
Thank you for your hard work and support for the Republican candidates in Dallas County. We are truly thankful for the volunteers who spent endless hours phone banking, block walking and volunteering at headquarters. We fought the good fight, and we would like to thank you for your dedication to the Dallas County Republican Party.
Although the Presidential election did not end the way we wanted, we had many important victories. We are sending Senator John Cornyn and all of our Dallas County Congressmen back to Washington. We will certainly need Sam Johnson, Kenny Marchant, Michael Burgess, Jeb Hensarling, and Pete Sessions over the next four years.
State Senators John Carona and Chris Harris as well as State Representatives Linda Harper-Brown, Dan Branch, Joe Driver, Will Hartnett, and Jim Jackson will continue to represent us in Austin. We are thrilled to add Angie Chen-Button to our roster as the newly elected Republican State Representative for Dallas County.
Justices David Bridges and Kerry Fitzgerald will continue to ensure the rule of law will be followed in the Fifth Court of Appeals. They will be joined by Judge Mary Murphy, who will make an outstanding addition to this Court.
The volunteer effort this year was beyond our expectations. Hundreds of volunteers gave thousands of hours to our Republican candidates. Our team:
- Made more than 200,000 voter identification telephone calls
- Hand addressed and mailed 28,000 GOTV reminder postcards
- Knocked on 120,000 doors distributing GOTV literature
- Made 265,000 GOTV telephone calls
- Purchased and distributed 15,000 McCain-Palin Yard Signs and 20,000 Bumper Stickers
- Raised contributions from over 800 donors, half of whom were first time donors to the DCRP
We have a long road ahead, but with your help we know that we can come together and continue to elect leaders who will represent our values in Dallas County.
I want to add a special recognition to the DCRP Staff who have put in countless hours since March. Kim Garza, Kim Locus, Mirand Zepeda, Bruce Redden, Alison Miller, Brandon Luter deserve our appreciation.
Sincerely,
Jonathan Neerman
Chairman
