Candidate Statement:
We moved to Rowlett in 1996 and I became actively involved in our city by serving on many boards including the Environmental Services Board, the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board, the Tree Preservation Board, the City Bond election, as well as on the Art and Design Committee for the DART Rail Station in Rowlett and so many more. I realized my love and passion for working in the public sector and found it a wonderful way to give back to our community.

I was honored to be elected for two consecutive terms to serve on the Rowlett City Council from 2013-2019, serving one term as Mayor Pro-Tem. I am so thankful for all the positions and experiences I have gained along with the Leadership classes I have graduated from and have served through. I look forward to serving as Dallas County Justice of the Peace Precinct 2 Place 2 having confidence that I am fully qualified.

The position of the Justice of the Peace in Texas is a is a Judicial position, it does NOT require a candidate or office holder to be an attorney. Texas’ founders and Authors/Signers of our Texas Constitution deemed it necessary to have a Court of the People, for the People, and by the People. That is what this court was created for and that it should remain, civil and just, according to the law.

Biography:
I am honored to be running for this position. I have been married to Mike, my husband, for 42 years; we enjoy our lives in Rowlett and have five grandchildren. I obtained my Undergraduate degree in Business from Dallas Baptist University as well as my Masters in Organizational Management.

Our family has lived in the DFW area since 1985. I have a passion for our people in Dallas County and that is one of the reasons I felt so drawn to the position of Justice of the Peace for Precinct 2, Place 2 in Dallas County.

When we moved to the DFW area our children were young and both my husband and I were working, but this did not keep me from volunteering. I enjoyed teaching a First Aid course at the American Red Cross and bringing my children with me on my Meals on Wheels routes through the Local Visiting Nurses Association. We of course went all through Scouting and Sunday School and PTA.

I would appreciate your support and covet your prayers. If you would like to participate and assist with this campaign, please let me know! There will be many opportunities soon as we approach the November 8th Election Date.

I look forward to having a successful campaign working with all of you and I wish to thank you for your support!
