DESCRIPTION:We are very fortunate to have someone with “Doc” Chambers experience and character running for the Gov. of Texas. You will be very impressed.  \nThe Texas Court of Criminal Appeals is the highest authority in Texas for criminal law. There is no appeal above it within the state. \nThe Texas Court of Criminal Appeals decides who stays in prison\, who gets a new trial\, and who lives or dies under Texas law. \nLower courts must follow what the CCA says. \nThat’s more direct power over people’s lives than almost any other elected office. FYI\, keep in mind that THIS court is the court that decided that the Texas Attorney General does not have the unilateral authority to prosecute election law violations.  \n**ONE ELECTION CAN CHANGE HOW THE LAW IS INTERPRETED FOR DECADES.  \nTom Smith is running for Place 3 in the TCCA’s\, and the Honorable Judge Jennifer Balido is running for Place 9. This is your opportunity to hear where both these candidates stand in this extremely important court.  \nThis event is being hosted in a private home.
