Dallas, TX – Governor Greg Abbott has appointed former State District Judge, Faith Simmons Johnson, to be Dallas County’s new District Attorney. Johnson was one of 11 applicants to be considered for the position.
“I first would like to congratulate Mrs. Johnson on her appointment. Her appointment is not just a win for herself, but for all of Dallas County,” said Phillip Huffines, Chairman of the Dallas County Republican Party. “Her 17 years as a State District Judge proves she has the experience needed to succeed as the new Dallas County District Attorney. I know she will be an invaluable resource for our County Judges to help them effectively manage their dockets.”
Johnson has spent the last decade managing her own firm, which practices civil, criminal probate, federal and family law. Johnson will replace Susan Hawk, who resigned in September citing health issues.
