About Lt. Gen. Mike Flynn
Lt. Gen. Michael T. Flynn is a retired U.S. Army lieutenant general who served as the 24th U.S. National Security Advisor under the first Trump administration. Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn graduated from the University of Rhode Island in 1981, and was commissioned a second lieutenant in Military Intelligence. His first assignment was as a paratrooper of the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Since then, he has served in a variety of command and staff positions.
He has maintained contact with the cadets and the Army ROTC program through his generous support of ROTC functions. He has spent his entire life serving his community and nation during peace and war. His exemplary devotion to duty, personal bravery and outstanding leadership is in the highest traditions of the military service and reflect great credit upon himself, his family and the University of Rhode Island.
