So now what?

So What Now?”
Good Monday morning everyone from New Haven, Connecticut—home of the nation’s third-oldest university, Yale. Ain’t America a great place when a kid born in a blacks-only hospital 64 years ago can stand in the city that houses one of our most prestigious institutions of higher learning? Interesting point: many of our early colleges and universities were founded as religious institutions, with the aim of educating young men in the Judeo-Christian faith heritage along with their secular studies. My, how times have changed.

Last evening, I had the opportunity to speak with members of the Yale College Republicans to learn about the atmosphere on their campus and to give them support and encouragement. These young conservatives on our college campuses are truly behind enemy lines—facing off against their peers, professors, and administrators. They deserve our recognition and support, which is why I am honored to be part of Young America’s Foundation, doing just that.

Here we are: the Texas redistricting maps have passed both the State House and Senate and just require the Governor’s signature to take effect. All of this after the imbecilic, sophomoric, and utterly incompetent behavior of Texas Democrat legislators—including self-imposed sleep-ins on the Texas State House floor. So, what now?

First, my recommendation is that Republicans do a better job messaging on this matter—or any other—going forward. I’m here in Connecticut, one of eight or so Democrat-controlled states with zero Republican representation in their congressional delegation. Just to the north is Massachusetts, and up the road a bit farther are Vermont and New Hampshire—same story.

It is apparent that what incensed the Marxist left about this whole episode was that something was being doneĀ to them, which they believe only they should be allowed to do. Ya know, the old ā€œrules for thee, but not for meā€ mentality. Thanks to the boldness and audacity of President Trump, Republicans have not only flipped the script, but once again exposed the insidious hypocrisy of the Marxist left. And folks, pay no attention to their empty threats about retribution—they don’t have the juice to follow through.

That doesn’t mean the fight is over—far from it. We must now, in Texas, work hard to win those five new congressional seats and expand the majority in our State House and Senate. The same applies to other red states where we hold the trifecta of Governor’s mansion, House, and Senate. This cannot be seen as a one-time ā€œTexas did itā€ moment while everyone else sits back and watches. This is about the future of our Constitutional Republic and the representative democracy that sustains it. Yes, America is a Republic, not a pure democracy. And how laughable it is to hear leftists rant about ā€œthreats to democracyā€ as they project their own guilt onto everyone else.

I mean, c’mon, man—how is it that a state where Republicans make up 40–43% of the electorate has only 17% of congressional representation? That’s California. Or take Illinois. How stupid can Texas Democrats be to abscond to two states—Illinois and Massachusetts—that combined have only two Republican members of Congress? That, my friends, is stuck-on-stupid, and REALLY bad optics.

My recommendation to our delusional and deranged leftist neighbors: stop watching MSNBC, or whatever they’re calling themselves. Stop talking about gerrymandering—you’re losing this messaging fight, and you’ll lose the overall engagement on this subject if you keep it up.

Another issue President Trump is right to pursue is the unconstitutional voting method called ā€œmail-in ballots.ā€ Where did that come from? Simple: Barry Soetoro’s lawless Attorney General, Eric Holder. Oh, did I mention Holder should be incarcerated for his participation in Operation Fast and Furious—not the movie, folks—that resulted in the death of U.S. Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry? But I digress. Holder wrote an April 14, 2020 article forĀ Time MagazineĀ titled,Ā ā€œHow Coronavirus Should Change U.S. Elections for Good.ā€Ā In that unconstitutional missive, Holder advanced the idea of mass ā€œmail-in ballots.ā€

Here’s the deal: there are three legitimate ways Americans vote—absentee ballots, in-person early voting, and in-person voting on Election Day. What Holder pushed, and what we stupidly bought into, was a system where unsolicited ballots were mailed out against voter rolls and unverified addresses. Absentee ballots are a completely different process. First, a registered voter must request a ballot with signature. That ballot is mailed to the qualified voter who has met the criteria. The completed ballot is returned sealed, with signature—to be verified. This standard was upheld by the U.S. Supreme Court in a decision against the South Carolina Democrat Party in 2020.

President Trump is absolutely correct in seeking to end this deceptive leftist attempt to corrupt our electoral process. Counting illegal immigrants in the census, which the Biden administration allowed, is another major threat.

Unsolicited mail-in ballots and ballot drop boxes are theĀ realĀ threats to representative democracy—and the Marxist left knows it, right alongside ranked-choice voting and the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact.

So, what now? We must expose every scheme the left uses to pervert, undermine, and manipulate our elections. Never forget: twelve states that Kamala Harris won in 2024 had zero voter ID requirements. Yet I had to show picture ID just to fly to Connecticut—a state with no Republican congressional representation.

I get it—you Marxist leftists hate Donald Trump. But that doesn’t mean we’ll sit by idly and let you destroy our country in your quest for totalitarian power.

This is why, next month, the Dallas County Republican Party—of which I am honored to be Chairman—will vote on adopting a hand count/paper ballot method for next year’s March primary. I implore you to support DCRP in this endeavor. We can create a groundbreaking effort to safeguard the sanctity of our elections and preserve not just Texas, but—as the title of my book says—Hold Texas, Hold the Nation: Victory or Death.
