2024 Wrap-Up
Greetings, everyone! This will be my last Chairman’s Monday Message for the year. It has been a whirlwind since we first announced my bid for Chairmanship of the Dallas County GOP last November. I want to thank y’all for the honor of serving in this capacity. If there is one thing I want future candidates to remember, tell people what you are for, not against. I will admit, we have survived one of the most unprofessional and adversarial leadership transitions I have ever experienced. God knows that, having served in the military for 22 years, I know a little about leadership transitions and changes of command. Regardless, we set our sights on achievable goals and executed our plan for the November 2024 election cycle.
We came into this position with just $80,000 in the bank account and this organization had had no fundraising events in over a year. We have conducted two very successful fundraising events since June 17th. It appears that we are on track to have over $250,000 in our year-end bank account. We will be posting an end-of-the-year treasurer’s report to the DCRP website, so stay tuned. This was accomplished even while a certain phony PAC organization sought to undermine our efforts. Kinda reminds one of last week’s Monday Message about the “special kind of stupid” Republicans.
This past week we held an election After Action Review (AAR) with our County Commission, State House, and Congressional candidates. The AAR proved very helpful in our preparations for the upcoming May municipal election cycle, as well as the 2026 midterm cycle which will be upon us before we know it. One of the critical points that data proved was that focused involvement of Precinct Chairs yielded positive results. It is imperative that going forward that we have active, engaged, and involved Precinct Chairs. This is not just about having a title, but it is about responsibility and accountability for your respective precinct.
We have all the tools available to enhance the success of our PCs, between GOP Data center, Bonfire, and Project Broadcast. We just need folks to do the work. We will be seeking to expand our PC numbers and also examine how we can capitalize on collateral coverage where possible. As well, we need our PCs to seek out individuals who can serve as Block Captains in their respective precincts. When we reach out and touch people, we win, and this will be important in historically low-turnout elections, such as the municipal elections. We are developing a solid slate of individuals and are reaching south of the Trinity River.
Another point of interest is to have our respective Dallas County GOP clubs and organizations adopt a voting center. We must have a greater presence and footprint and not allow dominance of the progressive socialists.
If there is one thing that we should all be proud of, it is the manner in which y’all reported the corrupt, incompetent, and questionable actions of Democrat election officials and the Dallas County Elections Department. One could easily surmise that this caught them off guard as they have never been challenged in such a determined, principled, and competent manner. This fight over the uncovered electoral systems irregularities is not over as we will push for reforms in the 89th Texas Legislative session, and by other means.
Plans are already underway for the 2025 Lincoln-Reagan Day Dinner, so stand by for information. I humbly ask that you spread the word about the Dallas County GOP and expand our financial support. Yeah, the Navy crushed the Army football team this past Saturday, but one thing I learned in my assignment with the US Marines is that it takes anywhere from 3-5 miles to turn an aircraft carrier (CV) or big deck amphibious ship (LHD) into the wind to launch aircraft. Here at the Dallas County GOP we have begun that turning movement in the past six months. Y’all should be extremely proud of what you have accomplished and achieved in such a short time. I certainly am!
Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and Happy New Year!
Steadfast and Loyal.
