Legislative Priority Update: Stop Sexualizing Texas Kids

MAJOR WINS

  • SB 412 – Obscenity Accountability: This bill ensures criminal liability for distributing harmful material to minors in schools. It has passed both chambers and is headed to the Governor’s desk!
  • SB 2420 – App Store Accountability Act: A huge step in protecting children from online exploitation. This bill requires app stores to apply stricter safety and age-appropriate standards. Also on its way to the Governor!

These are massive wins for families, advocates, and every Texan who believes kids should be protected, not exploited.

IMMEDIATE ACTION NEEDED

Two critical bills that reinforce these protections need your support to cross the finish line:

  • HB 4623 (Rep. Mitch Little): Ends legal immunity for public schools and educators who enable or ignore child sexual abuse. This gives survivors a path to justice.
  • HB 3225 (Rep. Daniel Alders): Protects kids from sexually explicit materials in public libraries and imposes penalties on libraries that violate state standards.

Both bills have passed the House and are now in the Senate Education K-16 Committee, where they could stall without public pressure.

Call Now and Ask for a Senate Hearing:

  • Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick: (512) 463-0001
  • Chairman Brandon Creighton: (512) 463-0104

Let them know these bills matter to Texas families—and we expect action.

How Did Our Dallas County Reps Vote?

  • Rep. Angie Chen Button – Voted FOR all of the above!
  • Rep. Morgan Meyer – Voted FOR all of the above!

We’re grateful for their support and encourage them to help shepherd these bills through the Senate.

Let’s finish strong. These bills are not just policies—they are protection for our kids, accountability for institutions, and justice for victims.

In this fight, your voice matters.
