A Missed Opportunity
Last week was June 19th, also known as Juneteenth. I released a missive extending Happy Juneteenth greetings. The title was “Happy Juneteenth, Courtesy of the Republican Party.”
It is time that we stop the progressive socialist leftists of the Democrat Party from not just destroying history, but revising and rewriting it to their deranged advantage. I found it abjectly disgusting that Joe “Autopen” Biden was in Galveston, Texas, speaking at a Black church on Juneteenth . . . as if he, or his party, had anything to do with that momentous day. As a matter of fact, it was Joe Biden who eulogized Democrat Senator Robert Byrd, who had been a grand poobah of the Ku Klux Klan. The same Robert Byrd participated in the longest filibuster in US Senate history: Senate Democrats against the Civil Rights Act of 1964. An Act that only passed because of Senate Republicans led by Senator Everett Dirksen.
The Republican Party was founded in 1854 on a single issue, the abolition of slavery. Juneteenth had everything to do with that. Instead, we sit around criticizing the date as something concocted by wokeness, instead of doing due diligence and perhaps reading. So it goes, another missed opportunity. Instead of misplaced grumbling, there should have been a push by the GOP to conduct a reenactment of the June 19, 1865, moment when the slaves in Texas were told that they were free, the last to find out. I would have been more than happy to don a Union Army uniform and participate in the event. We have Civil War reenactments all over the place, why not here in Texas for Juneteenth?
Juneteenth would not have happened if not for the first Republican president, Abraham Lincoln, signing the Emancipation Proclamation on January 1, 1863. And there may not have been a Republican Party of Texas, founded on Independence Day of 1867, if the 150 Black men who were part of establishing the nation’s largest state Republican party, had not found out they were free because of a Republican president.
The same goes for the 13th, 14th, and 15th Amendments, which were led by Republicans, and vehemently opposed by Democrats.
Because of missed opportunities, Republicans ceded over entire communities to the left, the Democrats. Look at all of our major population centers — and that includes Texas — and ask yourselves, who is in charge? Then ask where we find the most incompetent, inept, and corrupt elected officials? I mean we have our own albatross here in Dallas County, Jasmine Crockett, who should read Proverbs 17:28. Too often, Republicans have listened to the professional political consultant class, who have said pay no attention to the inner cities, a missed opportunity.
Donald Trump went from winning Texas by 6 percent in 2020, to winning Texas by 15 percent in 2024, because he won 12/14 border counties. Why can’t we take the message of Frederick Douglass and Booker T. Washington, both Republicans, into the inner cities, instead of the leftist victimization message of WEB DuBois, an avowed socialist? One thing I love about being a paratrooper is that we go in behind enemy lines to cause disruption. It is time the Republican Party did the same, go in and go on offense and force delusional leftist 21st-century economic plantation overseers like Maxine Waters, Karen Bass, Jasmine Crockett, Hakeem Jeffries, and the other useful idiots to defend that which is indefensible. It ain’t that hard.
Juneteenth was an opportunity to evidence that it has, and always will be, Republicans who support individual freedom and liberty, not just for Blacks, but for all. Leftists — Democrats — have and always will be the party of enslavement, once physical, now economic, but the chains are still apparent. Remember Joe Biden’s insidious comment, among many, “Dey gone put y’all back in chains?” Well, when it comes to Jim Crow 1.0, 2.0, and putting folks in chains, it has always been the Democrat Party. They just enjoy projecting their racism, and apparent anti-Semitism, on others.
Hey, Republicans, let’s stop missing opportunities. Let’s stop trying to be lesser versions of Democrats, and take a stance that is a clear delineation when it comes to our governing philosophy. Let’s go into the inner cities and expose who it is that supports killing our babies in the womb, miseducating kids and restricting educational freedom, denying the American dream and replacing it with a welfare dependency state, and most of all, decimating the traditional nuclear Black family.Â
That is why DCRP will be represented in DeSoto, Texas, this week: to tell the truth. We know that the best disinfectant is sunlight.
Steadfast and Loyal.
