“Threats to the American Constitutional Republic”
| “Threats to the American Constitutional Republic” |
Last week I had a news reporter ask me a very troubling question, “why should we vote in precincts”? With much dismay I had to remind the young reporter about the elected position called Precinct Chairs, the closest level of elected representation in our County. The reporter then asked if voting in precincts would confuse voters, to which I responded, every registered voter receives a voter registration card, and on it is their voting precinct number. It is the responsibility of the County elections department, and the respective parties, to inform people about their precincts. We often hear Marxist leftists rant about “threats to democracy”, what they are really articulating is anything that is not lock step with them is a threat to their ideological agenda. America is a constitutional republic, it affirms such in the “Guarantee Clause ” of the US Constitution, Article IV, Section 4. And as Benjamin Franklin told Mrs. Powell on September 17, 1787 outside Constitution Hall, “it is a Republic, if you can keep it.” The greatest threat to our Constitutional Republic is that we, the American people, do not know what that means. Since the advent of reality TV, we have become so dumbed down and addicted to sound bites that we have lost our ability to reason and, as a Nation, be critical thinkers. Our goal standard system of education is now producing near illiterates at an alarming rate. And we are told that parents who are concerned about the education, not indoctrination, of their children are domestic terrorists. It should be very disturbing to us when we hear a young person, Cea Weaver of New York City, say something as absurd as “home ownership is a weapon of white supremacy”. Heck, nobody told my Dad that and I will always remember the day he made the last mortgage payment for our home, 651 Kennesaw Ave NE, Atlanta Georgia 30308. Who would have ever thought that a Black man born in 1920, World War II veteran, was an instrument of white supremacy because he owned his own home…and inspired me to want the same. We look on our streets, and yes, here in Dallas, and we see people protesting about law enforcement enforcing the law. Unauthorized entry into America is a federal offense and obstructing a law enforcement operation is also a crime. But somehow, we have a segment of our Nation that thinks breaking the law, disregarding the law, and attacking law enforcement officers is acceptable when it does not support their agenda. You cannot have a Nation without secure borders, and no Nation can survive with millions of people residing within its borders illegally…to include hundreds of thousands of single military age males, along with tens of thousands of Chinese single military age males. Perhaps I am a tad old school but why do we print our election ballots in multiple languages? Silly me, I was under the belief that only American citizens could vote, and if you are an American citizen, then you speak, read, and comprehend English. Funny, there are probably more naturalized American citizens who understand the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and our history than naturally born Americans…after all, naturalized citizens must pass a citizenship test. I wonder if the reporter who asked me about voting precincts could pass that test? I know, there are many of you saying voters need to pass the citizenship test. I taught Honors US Government for a year at Deerfield Beach High School in Deerfield Beach Florida. That year was such an enjoyable experience that I signed onto being a civilian-military advisor to the Afghanistan Army. Lest I digress, I personally saw how high school seniors struggled to understand the basic foundations of our Republic, its representative democracy, and our three branches of government. I will never forget the time when a student asked me, who fought in the Civil War, yes, the American one? Here we are in our 250th year of independence and we are insidiously electing individuals who are a threat to our constitutional republic. We, here in Texas alarmingly so, are allowing the invasion of islamism which if you have studied, you realize it is antithetical to our constitutional principles and values. I have stated this before publicly and will again say so here. In America there exists a contingent of 30%-35% that are just “stuck on stupid” and somehow we must rescue them from their delusion…such as Cea Weaver and her boss Zohran Mamdani. But, they are not who we are as the American people. During the Battle of Lake Erie, 1813, part of the War of 1812, naval commander Oliver Hazard Perry sent a message to General William Henry Harrison, “we have met the enemy, and they are ours”. Years later, Walt Kelly, creator of the cartoon character Pogo, revised that famous saying from American history to “we have met the enemy, and he is us”. The enemies of our great Nation are indeed hoping that we will destroy ourselves from within. Sure, we can have differences, but we should never have two competing ideological philosophies of governance that are separated by a grand chasm. Marxism, socialism, progressivism, statism, communism, islamism are the antithesis of our fundamental principles rooted in classical liberalism (John Locke Natural Rights theory) and Constitutional conservatism. It is all about the relationship between the rugged individual and the government…and there is no “warmth of collectivism”. In this critical election year, we must think and speak less about political parties, and more about the philosophy of governance that is best and elevates the individual, their rights, freedoms, and liberty, over the enslavement of governmental collective domination, subservience, and subjugation. And remember, above I stated that we must think…that means we cannot be mindless lemmings and useful idiots. Steadfast and Loyal. |
