| This year we will celebrate America 250, yes, 250 years of American independence, but we must also recognize the ideologies that threaten our independence. I would propose that as we draw closer to July 4, 2026, and through this entire year, we should reflect back to America 200. If we are to understand where we are today in the longest running Constitutional Republic in the world, we need to ascertain what has happened in the last 50 years. The issues that we are confronting today would have seemed unconscionable 50 years ago, and therein lies the real issue. We must come to understand the Marxist and Islamist principle of incrementalism. We have all heard of the metaphor about boiling a frog, that it is done by the incremental increase of the water temperature. This is a strategy that has been successfully implemented by the two purveyors of totalitarianism. America was established upon a belief in individual rights, freedoms, and liberty but slowly, over the past 50 years, we have seen two ideologies that seek to erode, and ultimately eliminate, that foundation. And if we, as constitutional conservatives, and Republicans, do not recognize and adapt this same strategy, what will America 300 look like? In football it is imperative to pick up first downs, every play does not have to be intended to score a touchdown, that is why ball possession is critical. Just the same, a good baseball team is not the one where every player tries to hit a home run, but rather getting on base, and moving runners into scoring position. The principle of incrementalism requires focus, discipline, and patience and many on our side want immediate results, instead of recognizing the importance of achieving intermediate success. In World War II the United States did not immediately attempt to invade Europe and mainland Japan. The military leaders realized that they had to strategically reduce the sphere of influence of Nazi Germany and Imperialist Japan, heck our first foray against the German Army was a resounding defeat at Kasserine Pass in North Africa. But, we stayed focused, learned our lessons, made leadership changes, and incrementally found success. This is the lesson we should learn in defending our Nation from the onslaught of Marxist leftists and Islamists. We have to have a long term strategic plan, but when possible, we can find opportunities that we can exploit to setback the Red-Green alliance. But we cannot be so impatient that we are charging by way of a frontal assault into a crucible of defeat. I have been to the Gettysburg battlefield on several occasions, I am sure Pickett’s charge was a grand endeavor and a mighty spectacle to witness, but it was an utter failure. Our Dallas County Republican Party just successfully evidenced that we could have a separate primary election from Democrats, even in a deep blue county. We proved that you could combine precincts and execute a precinct based election on Election Day. All of this without State level support, especially with the fact that our own Texas Secretary of State is in a lawsuit with the Republican Party of Texas to have closed primaries in the Lone Star State. The DCRP proved that in our primary, we do not need to have Democrats dictating to us, that we could provide our own election judges and clerks. That is a great success, one in which we should take great pride. We struck, and we did well. But where we did not do well, was in our Republican voter turnout, and sadly, Democrats outvoted Republicans across Texas in the primary. Republican voter turnout has to be a priority, along with better informing and educating the voting electorate. So many ask me, when are we going to turn Dallas County Red? Well, the leftists set their sights on that objective back in 2006, culminating success in 2018. We are not going to turn Dallas County red overnight, and we are certainly not going to do so with abysmal Republican voter turnout. And yes, I do believe that there are Blacks, Hispanic, and Asian voters who reject the tyranny of the Marxist left…we just need to tell them. So, let’s pick up more first downs. Let’s get more hits and runners (candidates) into scoring position. There is nothing about Marxism and Islamism that is consistent with American principles and values, certainly not our understanding of individual liberty. Let’s smartly choose our battles, be disciplined, tough, and not be in fear of letting the left know that we are conservatives, we are Republicans. Steadfast and Loyal. |
