DALLAS, TX—The Chairman of the Dallas County Republican Party (DCRP) is calling on the Texas Secretary of State (SOS) to immediately rectify issues regarding illegal software and hardware before early voting for the November 2024 election begins. These issues were discovered after a recent equipment validation test publicly failed.
According to DCRP Chairman Allen West, there are four voting system components that are illegal or were illegally certified by the Texas SOS that, as of now, will be used in Dallas County’s November election. These components include the Central Accumulator, DS200 scanners, Activation Card Printer, and the ExpressLink Software.
“I call upon Texas Secretary of State Jane Nelson to rectify the issues with illegal software and hardware and protect Dallas County voters from election fraud,” said Chairman West. “We have experienced countless issues with the Texas SOS office granting unconstitutional waivers to election law. The SOS should request from the Texas legislature to revoke such absurdities as the ‘Reasonable Impediment Declaration’ and the ‘Voter registration of the homeless’.”
For voters, the risk of illegal and/or illegally certified software makes votes extremely vulnerable from tabulation to ballot scanning errors, just to name a few.
During the recent Logic & Accuracy Test, the Central Accumulator, the main tabulation computer that counts votes on election night, made serious tabulation errors for multiple Dallas County races.
The Election Code calls for three public Logic & Accuracy tests. The first one has already occurred, the second before tabulations begin, and a final Logic & Accuracy test after tabulations have concluded.
“It is imperative that, at the second Logic & Accuracy Test, the Elections Department personnel provide proof that they have removed the corrupted components from Dallas County’s elections, following emergency orders from Secretary of State Jane Nelson, to do so,” said Chairman West. “These orders must
be implemented prior to the start of early voting and the media should be invited to watch and observe.”
Chairman West emphasizes that now more than ever election fraud issues must be resolved to restore overall confidence. He called on the Dallas County Democratic Party Chairman to join the effort to restore bi-partisan confidence.
“It is essential that the Texas SOS promote the restoration of confidence in our electoral systems in the Lone Star state. At this time, it appears they are working counter to that effect, and aiding and abetting potential election integrity issues, also known as election fraud.”
