Electoral Reforms for Texas
“Fortis Fortuna Adiuvat”
“If you ever find yourself in a fair fight, it is because your tactics suck” — 1stSGT Jim “Finger” Reifinger (USMC, Ret)
This week the Texas State Legislature has been called back into Special Session, better known as “Mulligan session.” The Governor of the State has directed them to a “do-over” of things that were not accomplished in the regular 89th Legislative Session, which ran from January to May. Funny, does anyone believe that in the civilian sector, if you had to be called back to finish your duty you would be paid? Perhaps that is a topic for a future discussion. Regardless, one of the priorities is for the legislature of Texas to redo the previous redistricting of representative districts.
There is a real reason why the Marxist left is adamant — and violent — about the removal of illegal immigrants from this country. This comes after four years of their unconstitutional open borders policy, which flooded tens of millions into our Republic, including criminals, gang members, and terrorists. Leftists want to see these individuals counted in our census and representative districts based upon numbers of “people,” and not citizens. It is quite perplexing to me that the left believes anyone, those crossing into our country illegally, should have a representative voice. I mean, think of the absurdity: you want people who violated our laws to have an impact on who gets to make our laws? And not to mention, leftists want to see illegals given the American privilege to vote!
Here in Texas, where millions of illegals have found sanctuary, some openly in places like Colony Ridge, just northeast of Houston, we can rectify the situation. And we should!
Texas, the Lone Star State, should be leading the charge for electoral reforms in the nation, not following. We should heed the time-honored aforementioned Latin phrase, “Fortune Favors the Bold.”
Now, we have already heard rumblings from the leftist representatives in the Texas legislature that they are going to execute another “bug out” like they did last legislative session when electoral integrity legislation was being pursued. Unfortunately, as these individuals took private jets to DC, where they were wined and dined as heroes on the Texas taxpayer dollar, there was a lot of talk about consequences and ramifications. However, nothing happened to those members, and they returned to only hinder us from having firm electoral reforms in Texas.
This time, if these useful idiots decide to go AWOL, their seats should be declared vacant. They and their staff should not receive pay. Their offices should be cleared out and any personal belongings dumped into the hallways, for anyone to partake of. The remaining members of the legislature should proceed with the business before them.
But, it is not just that we need to push forward with right and proper redistricting, and not dilly dally about it. There are other electoral reforms that this Texas legislature special session should rectify.
It should be passed into law that Texas will no longer have open primaries. No more should leftists be voting in Republican primary contests, or even Republican primary runoff elections, and choosing their desired candidate. We talk about Texas being a red, conservative state, but truthfully, it is governed like a purple one. One would have to ponder, why wouldn’t Texas Republicans in the legislature not want their primary elections closed?
Another key aspect to electoral reform, and integrity, in Texas would be passing a law removing the use of voting machines in the Lone Star State. Why wouldn’t Texas Republicans, a Republican Governor, not want to see the elimination of voting machines, and processes, that have proven unreliable, and even questionable. We had a very interesting time with our electronic poll books and tabulators in the November election here in Dallas County. It was so bad that the Texas Secretary of State office decertified the ES&S ePoll Books statewide, the replacement is truly not better.Â
In Texas, all the major population centers and counties are controlled by the Marxist left: Dallas, Travis, Harris, Bexar, and El Paso. I tend to wonder what would happen with electoral results in these critical counties if we went to hand count/paper ballots. Not just that, how about we eliminate countywide voting and return to precinct-level voting in Texas. Yes, as my wise dad would say, “Boy, a hit dog will holler.” The louder the leftists protest about such an electoral reform, then you know you are over the target.
See, there is a reason why George Soros and his like keep dumping millions of dollars into Texas. Yes, last election cycle in November we saw 12/14 Texas border counties go red. But, if we do not reform the electoral system in Texas, and these are not radical processes, then eventually you provide leftists with a gap they will exploit.
Hey, great news: our Dallas County Republican Party formed a Hand Count/Paper Ballot task force a month ago. They have made incredible progress, and we will have a plan for which our County Executive Committee can vote to implement. However, we are in Dallas County, and you know that all the possible obstacles will be brought out to prevent this from happening in the March 2026 primary. Support us in this endeavor because we are taking bold action where many are reticent and reluctant to do so. Sadly, it appears that prevalent lack of intestinal fortitude is in our Texas State legislature.
As my good friend, retired US Marine Corps First Sergeant Jim Reifinger says, if you find yourself in a fair fight, it is because your tactics suck. We do not need to restrict ourselves to some “Queensbury rules” when confronting the Marxist left when they operate under Saul Alinsky’s Rule for Radicals, meaning there are no rules. Let’s use the Rule of Law and sound electoral reform policy to put an end to their chicanery or else one day, they will sneak in Rank Choice Voting (RCV) and Texas too could one day have its very own Marxist-Islamist mayoral candidate.
If you want to donate to our efforts to restore precinct-level voting and hand count paper ballots in the Dallas County primary of March 2026, you may do so here.
Steadfast and Loyal.
