Political Calculus: A Primer

And so it has begun: leftist governors in California and Illinois are threatening retribution if Texas moves forward with the potential redistricting in this present special session of the Texas legislature. Governors Pritzker and Newsom have issued warnings that they will indeed do the same. However, there is less of a serious bite to their threat.

There is a serious political calculus being waged by the Marxist left in America. When you hear the phrase “democratic socialism,” the left is banking on a percentage of America electing socialists, not a majority, but just a plurality, to justify their totalitarian design. However, there is nothing that blue states like Illinois and California can do to effect that end. The objective of the Marxists is to infiltrate and flip red states, and Texas is at the top of the list.

Blue states like California, Illinois, New York, and others are bleeding population into red states; a two-edged sword. There are those who are fleeing these wastelands of freedom and liberty for a better quality of life. They are flocking to states like Florida, Tennessee, and Texas. However, there is another aspect to this migration, leftists fleeing and establishing themselves in the major population centers seeking to change the political demographic of these States. Many red state governors tout economic growth as we have more corporations moving from blue states, but that can be to the detriment of the host. Much the same as cancer attacks the body, so do these corporations bring with them an employment base who perhaps did not want to depart, and actually liked the failed leftist policies that forced the corporation to depart. Two things must happen going forward: corporations departing leftist states for the promised land of red states, often embracing corporate welfare benefits, must explain to their employment base the nature of their departure. And perhaps, the welcoming state should have as a contingency of receiving the corporate subsidies, that a majority percentage of employment must go to the citizens of the host state.

The political calculus that the left is depending upon is that they will eventually have numbers so great in the major population centers that the outlying rural areas will be rendered irrelevant. That is exactly what has happened in a former red state, Colorado. It is playing out in my birth state of Georgia, and it is happening here in Texas. The threats from Pritzker and Newsom are empty, they are meant to intimidate and coerce behavior. If Texas stands firm and enacts the redistricting, it will damage leftist strategic efforts. Yes, there will be lawsuits, as we know the left seeks to leverage the courts to advance their agenda. It is imperative that red states lock their shields and present an impenetrable phalanx to ward off the assaults.

This is why the Marxists are fighting so adamantly for criminal, and all, illegal immigrants. This is part of their political calculus as they declare themselves, unconstitutionally, sanctuary cities and states. The aim is to include these illegals, stop calling them migrants, into census counts, allow them electoral patronage, and bolster the numbers in these Blue states. Let us not forget that Kamala Harris carried all states that did not have voter ID in the 2024 presidential election. Tom Homan and ICE are kicking the hornet’s nest going into these sanctuary areas and removing the left’s new electoral base.

Then we have the left’s objective to eradicate the electoral college. Blue states, along with the District of Columbia, have created what is called the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact. Their agreement is that their electors will only go to the presidential candidate that wins the national popular vote, regardless of who wins their respective State. The Founding Fathers established the electoral college to ensure that we would not have a dictatorial rule by concentrated populations. There would be equal representation in this Republic and all States would have a voice. By solely seeking the popular vote, it would mean only the most populous states, and most populous cities would gain attention. This is truly happening in Texas where more power is concentrated in the population centers of Dallas (Dallas County), Austin (Travis County), Houston (Harris County), San Antonio (Bexar County), and El Paso (El Paso County), all controlled by the leftists, with the danger being the electoral process is controlled by the leftists. And this is where you find the greatest prevalence of questionable election processes.

The strategic political calculus of the Marxist left cannot be dismissed. When Barack Obama stated that “we are five days away from fundamentally transforming the United States” we see it playing out before our eyes. The left will align themselves with anything and anyone who will enable their totalitarian design, control and that includes Islamic jihadists and criminal illegal immigrants. We must be better chess players and stop playing checkers. There is a reason why the left has quadrupled down after the November 2024 election. They do not believe their strategic plans have been defeated. We need to stop laughing about their efforts in Texas, realizing that they embrace the aspect of incrementalism.

I remember the maxim from Afghanistan of the Taliban: “You Americans may have watches, but we have the time.”
