Down Ballot
Good Monday morning, Dallas County! Incredible news coming out of Virginia last week where Governor Glenn Youngkin has issued an executive order for the use of hand count paper ballots in the coming election. We here in Texas must continue to push for this fail safe method of eliminating computer irregularities and discrepancies when it comes to our electoral process and procedures. We also need to emphasize the importance of returning to precinct level voting instead of voting centers. One of the issues that we have had success in reforming here in Dallas County is the disabling of computerized random unique ballot serial numbering of all ePollbooks. The other is the return to lawful and secure distribution of pre-printed, consecutively numbered ballots for early and election day voting.
Of course, what will ensure that these reforms — actually adherence to Texas Election Code — happen will be informed, educated, activated, and deployed election judges, poll workers, and poll watchers. Please, drop by the DCRP office or go online to sign up to volunteer to be an election worker.
We also need everyone to start informing and educating individuals in your respective precincts about our local candidates. So often we have people who come out to vote and hit the top of the ticket and depart. We no longer have the ability to just click the one button and have automatic voting for all candidates by party. That means we must exhibit the resolve to go down the entire ballot and vote your values, principles, and for those who will safeguard your economic, energy, local, domestic, border, and educational security, and also safeguard our children, born and unborn.
There are critical races for County Commissioner, State House, Judicial, and charter initiatives/amendments that will need your support. Yes, we will do everything to get you the information on the candidates, and races. As a matter of fact, last week we had an open house at the DCRP office for our political office candidates. Tonight, from 5-7pm we will have an open house for our judicial candidates. If you are new to the political process, please come out and meet those candidates. Remember, it was in 2018 when Soros-backed judicial candidates wiped out some 60 Republican jurists between Dallas and Harris Counties. We now have judicial activists sitting on the bench.
As well, there will be several important initiatives that will be on certain ballots this November. In Dallas there will be four critical city charter amendments. Three of those charter amendments are sponsored by the Dallas HERO initiative led by former US Marine Corps Force Reconnaissance Marine Pete Marocco. These charter amendments center around filling the gaps in the Dallas PD manning, holding city council members accountable, and holding the Dallas city manager accountable by a measurable metric evaluative system. It is quite disconcerting that Dallas city council members have already come out against these three charter amendments. They are speaking out that prioritizing filling police department shortages will result in severe budget cuts. It is, therefore, obvious that these members do not understand that safety and security of the population is their number one imperative. And for council members to push back against being held accountable, as Adam Bazaldua is doing, is indicative of the “arrogance of officialdom” which Roman statesman, Marcus Tulius Cicero addressed.
As a matter of information, there is a fourth city charter amendment that would legalize marijuana in the City of Dallas. If you know anything about Portland, Seattle, and Denver, this is something that we do not want here. No, I do not support casino gambling in Dallas, a city with a serious human and sex trafficking issue.
As we draw close to the beginning of early voting and election day, DCRP will get sample ballots into your hands. We want to reduce the “guessing effect” for you, the voter. I implore you to follow our DCRP website, and get on our mailing list. Come out this evening to meet our judicial candidates, if you are just getting your feet wet into our political process.
Lastly, get your tickets to our inaugural Reagan Rawhide Roundup. It promises to be a great time with country music star, and American patriot, John Rich. This event will be held on Thursday, September 12, 2024 at Gilley’s and will be a great kickoff heading into this monumental election season. Come on out and join us!
Steadfast and Loyal.
