Rage Against the Machine
Good morning from Raleigh, NC! I am here in the Tar Heel state, a place where I spent five years of my military career, to speak on two university campuses. Later today I will speak at Wake Forest University and tomorrow at Duke University.
Perhaps you recognize the title of this week’s missive from the 90s alternative rock band of the same name. I find it rather interesting that today’s campus conservative students are the ones raging against the machine. And what machine is that? It is the Marxist academic industrial complex that has infiltrated and overtaken most of our college and university campuses today.
Back in the 60s and early 70s the rage was to “stand up to da man,” the prevailing government or administrative class. My, how have times changed. Now, the young conservatives are the ones deemed as the rebellious ones . . . and for good reason.
I have been a speaker for the Young America’s Foundation (YAF) for nearly a decade, and have traveled to speak on many campuses. The imbecilic products of this leftist machine on these campuses have evidenced their ignorance on many occasions. Perhaps the most famous was a young lady at Northwestern University who asked me “Do you identify as Black?” You can watch the video on YouTube. Another was more recently at St. Louis University where a Nazi swastika was drawn on my lapel. My dad fought against them in World War II in the European theater.
It is so very important that we show up and support these conservative students on these campuses. They are indeed fighting a good fight against their peers, professors, and administrations on these laboratories of progressive socialist indoctrination. And we saw the results of a sea change that is happening on these campuses this 2024 presidential election.
Young men voted Republican because they are done with the whole “toxic masculinity,” metrosexual demeaning of men. How absolutely absurd that some campuses canceled classes after the election and offered comforting items such as coloring books. That is not how we honor the men who stormed the beaches of Normandy 80 years ago by raising a bunch of whiny, wimps seeking out a safe space and a participation trophy.
Young women also voted Republican and many came from these college campuses. Led by courageous young women such as Riley Gaines, they stood up and demanded that they not see their athletic opportunities robbed from them by the insidious agenda to put biological males in women’s sports . . . and their locker rooms. Young women on our college and university campuses saw that the Democrats did not care about their safety. We remember the sad case of University of Georgia nursing student, Laken Riley. The local District Attorney for the county that includes Athens, Georgia, lost their reelection.
Now is the time for constitutional conservatives to encourage our young conservative men and women. Now is the time to seek them out and prepare them to step up into leadership roles and run for political office.
This coming Thanksgiving, do not adhere to the maxim that you cannot talk about politics and policy. The leftists are so delusional that they are advocating not inviting people to Thanksgiving who voted for President-Elect Trump, or just cancel Thanksgiving, period. That is the nature of these fascist leftists. They would prefer to shut down free speech, and expression, rather than have courteous debate on issues and policies. I can’t even imagine if I had ever come home for Thanksgiving and told my parents what I did and did not want to talk about. Needless to say, I would not be eating, since my dad would have adjusted my dental work.
Going forward, let’s commit to teaching, coaching, mentoring, and supporting the next generation of constitutional conservatives. They are taking a stand and raging against the machine on these campuses. Let’s join them.
Steadfast and Loyal.
