Republican John Lujan flipped HD 118 in a Special Election Runoff victory!

The Texas House Just Got Redder!

Congratulations to our newest member of the Texas House, Republican candidate John Lujan who flipped the Texas House seat for HD 118 in a Special Election Runoff Victory on Nov. 2.

By the end of the night, the result was a 2.4 percentage-point victory that left Republicans exhilarated in winning a historically Democrat-held seat.  The district includes part of San Antonio and areas south and east of the city in Bexar County. Rep.-Elect Lujan called his victory part of a "big movement for conservatism" in the Hispanic community.  Texas HD 118 is in San Antonio.

The background video for this page was taken from the cockpit of an F-16 fighter jet (built in Fort Worth); you can see the shadow of the GoPro camera (next to the heads-up display) as the aircraft starts its roll. The pilot is wearing the squadron patch of combat veterans of the 179th Fighter Squadron of the Minnesota Air National Guard 148th Fighter Wing located at Duluth Air National Guard Base, Minnesota; the “Viper Captain Mafia.”
